Glamping is the hot new vacation type and it’s popping up everywhere! Hope on this trend before it becomes overblown. Glamping is short for glamorous camping. It lets you stay out in nature, but provides amenities to keep you warm, comfortable, and happy.
Last year, I had the pleasure of staying in a tipi for a few nights in Joshua Tree and this year I stayed in the smokys. It was a magical experience where we sat out below the stars and slept deeply under the warm comforters of the bed. Also, glamping is a great way to get outdoors without “roughing it”. So, read below to find out why glamping should be your next vacation!

Reasons to Go Glamping
#1 The Amenities

When we pulled up to our tipi in the middle of the desert, twinkling lights greeted us. After a long day of hiking through Joshua Tree National Park, we were cold and ready to relax. Unzipping the tent (after unlocking it of course), we were delighted to see a large mattress and a solar heater. We slept soundly through the night with the warm heat and the numerous blankets that were provided.
Most glamping experiences will provide the renter with all of the tools necessary to stay out in the wilderness with extra resources. So, you only need to pack clothing and things you will need during the day. Our tipi had a fire pit with a propane tank, electrical outlets, thermal blankets, a cooler, and more. Along with these items, it also had a patio, guide books for Joshua Tree, and adorable decorations. They provided amenities that made glamping accessible for anyone!
If you go to larger glamping outfitters, they often have restaurants, activities, and experiences on the property to enjoy. When you go camping, you have to do it all yourselves, but when you glamp most thinks are taken care of for you!
#2 Budget Friendly

Camping means that you have to stock up on expensive gear like nice tents and comfortable sleeping bags. Plus, you have to pay for camping sites. Hotels in this country often charge high prices for a basic room. If you want to stay somewhere scenic you can expect to pay much more. Most glamping sites are very reasonable and you can find a wide variety of spots.
You can find tipis, canvas tents, yurts and more adorable options that are affordable. When we went to Joshua Tree, we paid way less than $100 a night for our stay. Often, small businesses or individuals, are in charge of the places and they care about your experience. A nice women owned our tipi that we found on Airbnb. If you look around the internet, then I’m sure that you will find something that fits your needs and your budget.
#3 Beautiful Settings

While you can find nice hotels, glamping shelters are often set in beautiful spots that are secluded and scenic. Wake up on a beach or on the edge of a mountain overlooking the gorgeous landscapes beyond. Our tipi was in the hills of the desert, which made it the perfect spot to stargaze. Staying amongst beautiful backdrops is truly amazing and unforgettable.
Glamping is a unique and special experience. Now, I am constantly looking for new places to explore and new glamping spots to try. I’m sure that you will love sleeping out amongst the stars and waking up to your scenic surroundings.
