WHERE WE WENT WEDNESDAY 🚙:

After moving out of our apartment, we drove down to Charlottesville to spend quality time with our family.

The last colors of fall were hanging onto the leaves and the weather was absolutely perfect. We went on strolls with our nephew, enjoyed delicious meals, and did some family yoga.

This time of year is definitely when I begin to slow down. As the light fades in the sky, my energy wanes a bit. So it’s nice to enjoy slow moments with the family.

Which one are you going to first?

I’ve been all over the US in my van and in my mind the winter is desert season. It’s the perfect time to head to the Southwest and explore the crazy landscapes there.

Here are my some of my favorite Southwest destinations:

🧲 Page, AZ- This is where you’ll find Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend, this is the perfect adventure destination

🪐 Hanksville, UT- You’ll feel as if you’ve transported to another planet when you visit Hanksville with highlights like Moonscape Overlook and the Bentonite Hills which look like Mars!

⌛️ Las Cruces, NM- Another fantastic town in the US, which is adjacent to White Sands National Park and the Organ Mountains.

🌊 Kanab, UT- This town is near Page, but it’s home to crazy rock formations like the Wave and White Pocket

🌴 Joshua Tree, CA- Joshua Tree is a funky town in California with the National park that has amazing rock climbing, camping, and hiking

Remember when you are recreating outdoors to leave no trace, never carve in the rock, and be a respectful visitor!

Has there ever been something you’ve been waiting to do?

I won’t lie, I still wait to do things. I say I’ll start a project, or try a new workout class, or move somewhere once something else arbitrary has happened.

But, I didn’t wait to see the world. I know so many people wait until they’re older and have more money to travel. But, nothing is guaranteed and you don’t know what tomorrow will bring. Plus, I can still try all the cool things I want to do now!

So, if you’re waiting for something this is your sign to go for it now, while you can!

What’s a trip that you look back on often?

I’ve clearly been in a bit of an introspective place lately, and I’ve been looking back at all the phases of my life. I feel like there are 100 different past versions of me/lives that I’ve lived.

Sometimes I like to look back and channel that old care free version of myself. Vietnam was one of those trips that really changed me.

It will be fascinating to see who I become next.
