Have you been yet?

Leavenworth, Washington is a Bavarian style town in the Cascade Mountains in Washington. It’s just 2 hours from Seattle and you can’t miss it!

Things to do in Leavenworth:

🥨 Visit one of the beer gardens for a Bavarian style pretzel, a stein of beer, and a sausage! I like both Munchen Haus and Leavenworth Sausage Garden

🎄 Visit in the winter for a Christmas themed wonderland. It’s so much fun with all of the festive cheer

🦌 Go to the Reindeer farm to meet reindeer!

🏔️ Go on a hike in the Enchantments, the best day hike is Colchuck Lake which is 8.7 miles and 2300 feet of elevation gain!

🛍️ Go shopping in the cute stores along the Main Street

🍻 Visit for the yearly Oktoberfest and enjoy beers and German food to your delight!

☕️ Grab a cup of coffee at the Bavarian styled Starbucks or just admire the architecture

WHERE WE WENT WEDNESDAY 🚐:

The van is back and so are we!

I actually have so many mixed emotions right now. Joy at the amazing larches we saw, sadness over the devastation in the Southeast, and nervous for a new chapter.

Dylan and I picked up Vinny near Banff and then timed the larches absolutely perfectly (so I guess the breakdown wasn’t bad for lol things). I was in awe of the beauty of the golden larches in these landscapes.

Plus, on our way down from a hike, we saw a freaking wolf! May never get over it.

But then, we hit the road to travel all across the country. We drove 36 hours, stopped at an Orioles game, and explored the beautiful Devils Lake Park in Wisconsin.

Dylan and I were supposed to end our trip in the Asheville area to go to my parents lake house and for Dylan to go to a bachelor party. Clearly that did not happen.

Instead a horrible hurricane ripped through the area leaving people without homes and towns completely gone. I cannot really even comprehend destruction to that level. My heart I hurting for the people who were affected.

So, while we had some beautiful times this week, I feel conflicted in sharing.

North Carolina and Florida are struggling and they

North Carolina and Florida are struggling and they need your help ‼️‼️

Last week, Hurricane Helene came through and absolutely devastated areas of Florida and Western North Carolina. Whole towns just washed away

These places are close to my heart as my family has a place in the North Carolina mountains just 40 mins from Asheville and Dylan’s family has a place in Longboat Key.

Here are some ways you can help:

⛑️ You can donate to the @americanredcross , give blood, or help volunteer with them. NC Disaster Relief fund and the Florida Disaster Fund are also taking donations for recovery

⛑️ Animals are also in need of fostering. Multiple organizations including the Humane Society and Home for Good Dogs need volunteers!

⛑️ There is free cleanup assistance from Crisis Cleanup. Please call 844-965-1386 if you need help

⛑️ Samaritans Purse is looking for volunteers to help homeowners with the destruction of properties. https://www.samaritanspurse.org/

Have you been to Banff in the Fall?

I was seriously blown away as we walked through the Golden larches. These larches will only last for a couple weeks, so you gotta go now!

Here’s everything you need to know about Healy Pass

🥾 The hike is 11 miles or 17.5 km and gains 2400 feet or 730 meters of elevation

📍It leaves from the Sunshine Meadows parking

🎟️ You’ll need a Canada Parks Pass

🌳 The first three quarters of the hike are through the woods and can be very muddy so bring shoes you don’t mind getting gross!

🍂 The larches peak in late September to early October

🍁 Please leave no trace, stay on the trails (even when they’re muddy), and enjoy the trees with your eyes
